Re: concert booking fees
In my opinion it should be law that every ticket to a function or venue (or anything similar) MUST have the price printed on and that NOBODY could charge above that price for it.
Of course, you'd still end up paying the same as the commission would be "built in" instead of being extra.
That MIGHT help stop ticket touts (I doubt it though) but they'd be breaking a specific law if they did (unless they already are)

Jeff,
Did you know that the booking agency you booked through don't get a penny of the ?35.00 ticket price?
As a result, to cover their staff costs as well as banking charges and merchant service costs, they must charge a percentage of the original ticket price(maximum allowed is 25%).
If people like Ticketmaster and others weren't able to charge this, they wouldn't be able to act as agents for the ticket promoters.
Personally, I believe the concert promoters should have a ticket price which is inclusive of fees such as ?40 whereby ?5 of the ticket price goes to the agency who resells the ticket.
It won't every happen due to ticket agency politics but it's a nice idea.

Re: concert booking fees
Is there actually anywhere you can get a ticket and only pay the face value?
It seems ridiculous that you cannot get a ticket without payng more that the price printed on it.

We have need of you again, great king.
Re: concert booking fees
direct from the source ?
Booking fee's are usually a 3rd persons cut, or the cost of providing the service

It is said that both love and truth walk hand in hand. But if the need is great enough, can we learn to love a lie?

Re: concert booking fees
its at manchester
what really gets my goat also is, you can never get the best seats as they are always bought by other tickets agencies who then charge hundreds of pounds.
