An anologue will not get you any porn channels as they are digital.

Humax are pretty good but you will need the correct CAM for the channels you want. Spice Platinum uses Irdeto so you will need to buy an irdeto cam for ?100. Cams are just PC cards which plug into the receiver and unscramble the picture. You can pick and choose which cam to buy depending on your choice of channels. Overall I think a Seca cam will give you the most porn but not spice platinum.

Hotbird/digital receivers/motorised?

Post by benspal »

Most will receive it, providing you have the correct cam in the receiver. Some receivers have the cam built in, others it's a slot in card holding device, at extra cost. But before anyone rushes out to buy a seca cam, beware that when Seca2 kicks in(their new scrambling method) the current seca cams may not work. Of course, you still need to buy a card to unscramble the channels too, whether this is pirate or legit, so costs soon add up & pirate cards may last a week or up to a year, depending, so careful with your cash!
80 cm dish with twin lnb will get hotbird & Astra(13+19 degrees East)so you don't have to have it motorised, but you may need to hang on to your sky dish for uncle Rupert's fare as this is not available on digital receivers that are not authorised by uncle Rupe himself(to stop Johnny Foreigner getting access to Brit tv!)
AHH, you say, what about every bar in Spain showing Sky digital? Well, they sign up in the UK then take the equipment abroad, Rupert gets his shilling from a direct debit via a brit bank account & everyone is happy!
Any other questions can usually be found answered in What Satellite magazine.
