Newsagents And Porn

Post by planeterotica »

Why is it that you can purchase hardcore porn mags showing full penetration in most newsagents but not R18 dvds, my point being that they can sell a soft version of a porno but not the R18 version but go to the top shelf and you could open a mag and find an uncut still taken from the same film so where is the logic in this, if the images on the sleeves of R18s were toned down then why should they not be allowed to sell them after all if you open a dvd case all you are going to see is a plastic disk where if you open a top shelf mag you can see explicit sexual acts, also as most of the 300+ licenced sex shops in the U.K. are operated by the same organisation where have the Monopolies Commission been or do they no longer exist.

It's crazy, tha age of consent is 16 but you can't look at pictures or watch DVD's etc. until you are 18 and then you have the above scenario to contend with.

Well if you have a goverment that allows people on the sex register to work with children then we can not expect them to be sensible about the sell and distribution of porn, after all they havnt a fuckin clue what they are doing.

I wholly endorse the sensible comments you have made. It is rather like the totally irrational parliamentary reaction to the Dunblane massacre. that was to clamp down on those who were properly licensed and do nothing about those who illegally own firearms who are the real problem. We also have the wholly illogical situation regarding shotguns which are every bit as lethal as other firearms, yet there is virtually no control over their possesssion. It is also very important to appreciate that the Sex Offenders Register has a lot of people on it who are of no risk to children whatsoever as the offence they commited did not involve children. I am sure that most people who read this forum appreciate this. The general public, delibrately misinformed by the tabloid press, do not.

Well under this goverments new ruling a brothel could be opening up near you at anytime but its still against the law to send a little R18 silver disk through the post, where is the moral in that.

What do you mean "do nothing"? They arrest them and send them to prison whenever they can catch them.

It's a question really of whether to crack down on the customers or the suppliers. When a supplier is a crackhead there's nothing really to be done but the customers can find alternatives. Someone should do some research as to why kerb crawlers are so determined to kerb crawl rather than going to a parlour or a flat or something

The plain fact is that the worse and more extreme the porn is, the easier it is to find in mainstream shops. This is the fact that will not speak it's name on these forums for obvious reasons.
