DVD player installation

Post by randyandy »

Hi folks

Sorry this is a question for the tech experts. lol

I've been given a DAEWOO DVD recorder + VCR and although I've managed to install most of it I am having problems obtaining a signal from the normal BBC ITV etc channels.

Before I installed it channel 1 on my TV was BBC 1 channel 2 was BBC 2 channel 3 ITV etc with my video and cable set on my channel 0.

The new DVD player is set on channel 0 and works so that I can watch cable, DVD's and Video's which for me is a miracle in itself but what I can't do is watch the normal channels on their previous settings anymore.

Doesn't matter which channel I chose I still get the same channel, just the sound and the picture is scrambled.

The player is overiding something because when I switch it off everything goes back to normal.

The problem I am having is that I stuck with watching 1 channel and unable to record anything else.

I've read the user manual and everything seems to be in the right place.

Anyone got any ideas on what to do to make it work please?

Cheers

Andy

You might also have a conflict with the tuning for the TV to pick up the signal for the DVD/VHS combi, I did with my Goodmans combi. Might be called something like 'RF output set' in the menu, usually found around the '35' mark though you can change this and re-tune the TV to suit.
