Note to tv broadcasters...

Post by Bishop Beesley »

Why don't you simply re-schedule all your programmes to start three minutes later. Then they'd all start on time!

Some programmes on itv, notably 'The Bill' regularly start early! I have to say I do get annoyed when the BBC is running late and could get back on schedule by cutting out the adverts which only advertise themselves, yet they always fail to do so.

Totally agree. especially about the catch up the BBC could do.

I thought I had a problem with my Sky box not turning on for some of the programs set for recording. I noticed that it was turning on but if the program is running late, then after a couple of minutes and the correct program hasn't begun, the box turns off. Leaving a pretty boring recording on the video recorder.......

ITV is notorious for late running on a monday night with the 2 episodes of coronation street, the first starts @ 19:33 - 20:02 and the second usually starts on time. The first always runs late cause of Eastenders in between the two corrie shows.

I am not sure exactly when it was Steve, but it was at a time when the government decided that we had to be forced fed news. With all the news channels available such a policy could hardly be justified now, not that it really could then, anyone wanting to see the news could have watched BBC2's 'Newsnight'. Possibly it says much about the limp wristed people who were running ITV at the time, who would allow their schedule to be totally fucked up by government dictate. I think this was about the time they started getting problems with advertisers withdrawing and, possibly, the two things were connected.
