Dropping out in Bulgaria

I don't want to seem cynical but I see yet another potential UK TV doco here. The viewers sitting back watching yet another idealistic "Innocent Abroad" getting very miserable.
There's a series running on NZ TV at the moment about a Kiwi family moving to Italy. I missed the first episode so I'm still trying to work out wtf they did it.

I visited Bulgaria in 1975 and 1997. I went to the Black see resorts, lovely country.

The language was impossible to pick up quickly unfortunantly. They have cold winter's with snow on the beaches, and lovely hot summers with beautiful green parks. Bit like walking around an English park on a lovely summers day.

I did get the feeling on the second visit that a big divide is happening between the businessmen in their BMW's and the people still using horse and carts to get around. Their balconies are rusty and falling down but as long as there is a bit of wall they bolt a satellite dish to it.

They will love the idea of learning English as this to them will give them a useful skill to stand out and get employment.

I would certainly watch the TV Documentary........

Sounds good to me..make sure its near a beach ?Lonely Planet guide book in the library would identify nice places...I like the idea of my pounds going further too having just got my council house and gas bills..BTW Hungary has the most beautiful women in Europe..good luck!
