the rules on uk porn (films)

Post by Allan »

You may have poted this before, but I think its very interesting read:

Taken from http://www.bbfc.co.uk/ the people that edit films in the uk.

Restricted R18 films:

To be supplied only in licensed sex shops to adults of not less than 18 years.

The 'R18' category is a special and legally restricted classification primarily for explicit videos of consenting sex between adults. Such videos may be supplied to adults only in licensed sex shops, of which there are currently about 90 in the UK. 'R18' videos may not be supplied by mail order.

The following content is not acceptable

any material which is in breach of the criminal law
material likely to encourage an interest in abusive
sexual activity (eg paedophilia, incest) which may include depictions involving adults role-playing as non-adults
the portrayal of any sexual activity, whether real or simulated, which involves lack of consent
the infliction of pain or physical harm, real or (in a sexual context) simulated. Some allowance may be made for mild consensual activity
any sexual threats or humiliation which do not form part of a clearly consenting role-playing game
the use of any form of physical restraint which prevents participants from withdrawing consent, for example, ball gags
penetration by any object likely to cause actual harm or associated with violence
activity which is degrading or dehumanising (examples include the portrayal of bestiality, necrophilia, defecation, urolagnia)

The following content, subject to the above, may be permitted

aroused genitalia
masturbation
oral-genital contact including kissing, licking and sucking
penetration by finger, penis, tongue, vibrator or dildo
non-harmful fetish material
group sexual activity
ejaculation and semen

These guidelines make no distinction between heterosexual and homosexual activity.

18 film:

No-one younger than 18 may see an '18' film in a cinema or rent or buy an '18' rated video.

The BBFC respects the right of adults to chose their own entertainment, within the law. It will therefore expect to intervene only rarely in relation to '18' rated cinema films. In the case of videos, which are more accessible to younger viewers, intervention may be more frequent.

There are no constraints at this level on theme, language, nudity or horror. The Board may, however, cut or reject the following content

any detailed portrayal of violent or dangerous acts which is likely to promote the activity. This includes also instructive detail of illegal drug use
the more explicit images of sexual activity - unless they can be exceptionally justified by context

Sex Education at '18'
Where sex material genuinely seeks to inform and educate in matters such as human sexuality, safe sex and health, exceptions to the normal constraints on explicit images may be made in the public interest. Such explicit detail must be kept to the minimum necessary to illustrate the educational or instructional points being made.

Sex Works at '18'
Material which appears to be simulated is generally passed '18', while images of real sex are confined to the 'R18' category.

In other words, unless you have sex with children, animals are dead people its legall.

Even fisting is legall, which it is not at the moment in the usa.

We now have more relaxed rules than the usa. Funney how my blaire has not boasted at completley changing the laws on porn.

I am planning of doing a film out of interest.

What I want to do is make it as rude as I can, but not so rude it becomes a restricted 18 film, this way I can sell the films myself (ie, not needing to bother with a licenced sex shop).

The films would be of just girls, no sex, what I want to do, is close ups of open vagina in one or two clips, ie usa mag style, no finger inside as I am sure this would be made restricted 18, and if I get restricted 18, I may as well do full sex shots.

So do you think open leg shots would push me over the limits or could I get away with it?

How far can you go before you are into r18 zone, hich I feel gives me less scope to sell the films.

I presume that I can sell 18 fils to people as long as they are 18, say even in a pub.

My thoughts are do a few 18 films to test the water, then if they sell ok, put them onto dvd with any profits made, then maby go onto r18, if things go ok.

Some incorrect assertions:

'Even fisting is legall'

'We now have more relaxed rules than the usa'

'is close ups of open vagina ' (I doubt this would be passed 18 in this context - it might be okay in mags but not in vids)

My thoughts exactly jj. Allan obviously dosn't know what the fuck he's talking about. "Selling videos in pubs and then putting them onto DVD if they go alright." What a load of cobblers!

As for his site, I commented quite a while back that it looked very amateurish, very 1996, and all in all was a load of shite!

Dibble - who knows a thing or two about this stuff.

I re-read my post, which was written while totally blasted, to see if I'd offended/got it wrong.
I hadn't.
