They wer'nt complianing when Eboe dived for the free kick that led to the goal.
Nobody was blaming Henry for missing at least 2 clear sitters.
Nobody is acknowledging Ronaldino's deadly pass that led to Etoo being sending off.
No as ever it was the referees fualt.
Now it pains me even more that Spurs did'nt come second.
Whiney old Arsenal
Re: Whiney old Arsenal
I'm not a great Gooners fan, but I'll support any English team in Europe (even the Gooners & Man Utd).
And in fairness they played well, considering they were down to 10 men after 18 minutes. They closed Barca down well and were very solid defensively, but once Barca equalised you knew there was only going to be one winner. Arsenal were simply incapable of creating enough chances.
Barca themselves were also guilty of showboating, but in the end you have to say they deserved it. Would've been nice if the Gooners could've held on just that bit longer though.

Re: Whiney old Arsenal
I agree with Pretty_Joe, Arsenal are very sore losers. I wonder if Henry and Wenger would have complained about the referee if they had won?
Re: Whiney old Arsenal
I would have allowed the goal to stand and sent off Lehman myself but thats not the issue with this game. The real issue was what the fuck was going on with Gaby Logans dreadful eyeshadow ? She looked terrible !!

Yeah right! As if you'd be congratulating Arsenal this morning if they had won instead of lost.

Re: Whiney old Arsenal
The referee was dreadful and inconsistent in his decisions. The game was exciting and entertaining INSPITE of his best efforts.
And yes, Arsenal are sore loosers.
I don't ever expect to hear a Gooner complain about Drogba diving after Eboue's performance last night. There was at least 18 inches of daylight between him and the Barca defender when he so theatrically tumbled to get the free kick that led to Campbell's goal.
Arsenal should have been 1-0 down after 18 minutes not 1-0 up after 37!
I applaud their tenacity after being reduced to 10 men, but I don't applaud their whinging. They were beaten by a better team.

There's an assumption that the whole country were willing Arsenal on ... very few Man Utd fans would wish them well, and few Spurs fans I should think. Yes, they play some great football at times but the attitude of people like Henry, Pires, Lehmann and Reyes is petulant to say the least and its rubbing off onto younger players like Van Persie and Fabregas.
Henry was said to be 'incensed' that Barca players encouraged the ref to send Lehmann off .. you wouldn't have to trawl the film archive for too long to find footage of the Arsenal players and Henry doing the same thing, and as has been noted elsewhere Eboue 'bought' the free kick.
For many years Wenger has used the 'I didn't see it' cop out to condone bad tackles etc of his own players .. now he claims not only to see offsides (E'tto), but his powers of vision are akin to that of an Olympic photo finish from 50 yards away on the touchline!
Lehmann got what's been coming to him all season for his timewasting antics and overreaction to forwards. He can be a fairly capable keeper, but also a liability in equal measure, and his attitude stinks at times.
At the end of the game Henry showed that the 'blaming' mentality is institutionalised at Arsenal. Doubtless he's a great player but there are question marks about his big match credentials. Finally it's one in the eye for the Londoncentric media that have given Arsenal such an easy ride and put a different spin on a mediocre season save for a freakish appearance in the Champs League Final. They're in love with Arsenal, Henry and Wenger but still, the European Cup has been in Birmingham and Nottingham more often than its been in London.

Re: Whiney old Arsenal
Erm... totally off the mark.
Arsenal's keeper was sent off for cheating. Their goal came as a result of cheating. After the game Arsenal's star player and their manager basically excused their loss by accusing others of cheating. Henry was even disrespectful about the great players of the opposing team. The great Arsenal sides of the past would NEVER have acted like this. The referee didn't have the best game, but he wasn't bent for fuck's sake. Arsenal lost because they went down to ten men. They went to ten men because of Lehmann. Point the finger where it should be pointed.
This season I've lost all respect for Henry and Wenger, both of whom I used to have a lot of time for. I felt ashamed to be English watching the antics of Arsenal and, post-match, the media being so jingoistic that it would rather accuse match officials than ask the question why a world-class 'English' team tried to cheat its way to victory. That team was Arsenal, pure and simple, not Barca. At the end of the day justice was served because the better team won.
Arsenal fans who are deluded enough to believe 'we was robbed' would do well to remember last year's final. Liverpool fought and won and were magnificent. Gerrard always pays tribute to great players on the other side. That's how to play the game. Arsenal were a disgrace and I'm delighted that they awoke this morning as losers.
