Drug testing in our schools

Putting a swab inside a child's mouth is invasive physically and of the child's civil liberties. Parents or those in locus parentis are allowing abuse of their children by signing a contract to give up these hard won liberties.

The results are predictable: As the testing involves three substances cocaine, heroin and cannabis our children will switch to more binge drinking and also to harder more addictive substances than the cannabis which is the main pyschoactive substance of choice, because cocaine and heroin leave the blood within seventy two hours, whereas cannabis stays in the body for twenty eight days or more! Users can be clean b Mondy morning by flushing with plenty of water.

Do we really want to go faster down this slippery slope towards an authoritarian state. If you have authoritarian tendencies and you want your children tested why not do it yourself?

It is a degrading process. If they are tested positive then this will be recorded and used against them for the rest of their lives!shocked!

it's not bollocks, all kids will do is bunk off school more, drug testing won't have any effect excpet to marginalise kids at an early age, it will have little effect on drug use

The question is would you sign a contact with your children's school agreeing to have your child subject to random drug testing?

First it was prisoners then, prison officers, then the army, then the police , now its our kids. Soon it will be you!

it already is us, a lot of companies subject their staff to random drug tests

and no, I wouldn't want to work for them or have my kids subjected to the same, leaving the rights issue to one side I think it would be counterproductive

My contract of employment says I can be subjected to random drug and alcohol testing. It's a standard clause with most multi national companies.
