The Stephen Lawrence Murder

Post by dave78 »

Did anybody watch the documentary last night? Possibly the greatest miscarriage of justice in British law. Unbelievable! All five racist scumbags are still free and living in British society. Serious case of corruption. I live in hope that justice will still be done even after all these years.

It is appalling whenever anyone is murdered but what makes the Lawrence case any different than any other? The parents have been feted by the media & the government, been given honours and earnt a lot of money from it, before you say it, I know they would rather have their son but he's gone.

My wifes uncle was murdered some years ago, throat cut, never solved and nothing ever heard about it outside of the local papers. His wife is never interviewed on TV & radio whenever someone else is murdered, she must be as big an expert on the grief of murder as the Lawrence family who still turn up giving their expert views on a regular basis.

The millions of pounds that have been spent on the case only fuels the truth that that the media loves making copy out of white on black racism while black on white racism is swept under the carpet and doesn't seem to exist.

As I started with, very sad case but no sadder than other murders that have long been forgotten and ignored.

Much of what you say I would agree with. Sir Ian Blair made similar points about the Soham murders earlier this year. Nevertheless it seems that those responsible for the Lawrence murder were known early on and the police in the case failed to arrest them and probably lost valuable evidence as a result. It is true that suspects cannot be arrested just because people name them without evidence to back it up, but if they had been arrested and subsequently released due to insufficient evidence, the police would have come in for far less criticism than they did by not arresting them.

I have to say I agree on this point.
On the rare occasion a black/asian is set upon by a group of whites it makes for huge media attention, yet when the situation is reversed there would appear to be almost a media blackout, yet in my experience this is a far more regular occurrence than the former - why is this?

Political correctness, mate!
Everyone's scared of being labelled a racist these days.
In effect it amounts to reverse fascism.

The terrorist situation is different because police did not or could not fully justify their actions because of the intelligence situation. I think you will find that police often arrest people in murder investigations and either release them without charge or charge them with a lesser offence. Usually there is little criticism of this action.
