Filthy Hospitals

Post by mrmcfister »

Well the missis has today seen a cleaner in a brand new hospital wipe a cloth around a toilet and then use the same cloth on a table. No wonder so many people die of bugs and stuff in hospital. What the fuck is going on ?She wants me to buy her some spray dettol and I must say I dont blame her.I cant believe that hospital cleaners are so badly trained, poorly supervised, got such low standards etc.The cleaning is contracted out to outside firms who pay peanuts to people not a long way up the food chain in some cases.Another great success by this crap government.Needless to say when this hits the press they will no doubt say..'Things are now much improved etc etc'..Bollocks..its a disgrace when people are frightened to go into hospital frightened of what they may catch....what say you Mr Blair?

I think you'll find we have the Thatcher government to thank for "outsourcing".

It's about time a truly socialist government was elected with a mandate to re-nationalise the utilities and do away with this stupid craze for outsourcing everything. It may work in industries where profits are the be all and end all, but the NHS is not there to make a profit, it's there to care for people and this can only be done by getting away from the current "management" culture.

"But how to make Liverpool economically prosperous? If only there was some way for Liverpudlians to profit from going on and on about the past in a whiny voice."

I have worked in Airports, Hospitals & a few other places, & that is NOTHING compared to some of the crap the cleaners get up to.

Yes, I have also done some Cleaning jobs, you would not believe how the managers scrimp n save on every cleaning product the reluctantly dish out to you, how you are supposed to do the job (little or no training, lack of care for hygeine as well). And your pay is NOT peanuts, it is sawdust (under national minimum wage, complain about that, or anything & your fired), typically it was 60-72 hour weeks, 1 morning break (10 mins), 1 lunch/dinner break (barely 30 mins) then for the rest of the shift, you work your bollox off.

Oh yeah, & when you get used to the job, they replace you, or your team/workmates, or all of you, with a bunch of (un-named racial groups) scum, who are lazy, can't speak a word of english, wont get off their lazy asses, & leave most of the job filthy, who they have just imported (from un-named racial groups' home country) that week).

You pay peanuts you get monkeys.

You can?t have decent public services and low taxes.

Nothing is going to change until both Labour and Tory stop lying to us that we can.

France has the best health service in the world, and some of the highest taxes in Europe.

People in the UK are more interested in buying their next 4x4 rather than having a decent health service.

I remember there was a big debate just before the general election about the state of cleanliness in hospitals.

Someone then said that it was down to outsourcing ? thanks to Thatcher.

I recall Michael Howard said ?it?s nothing to do with outsourcing because hospitals with in-house cleaners are as bad as the one with outsourced cleaners?.

What he forgot to say was that the out-sourced cleaners set the benchmark. If in-house cleaning services don?t cut their costs to compete with out-sourced cleaners - which means down-grading their quality to the level of outsourced cleaning services - the contracts go to private contractors anyway.

Thanks Bob, the voice of reason as ever.
Why is it always presumed that "Privitisation" is always more efficient (except that means doing the job for the lowest possible price irrespective of the outcome)?

That may be true, but NuLabor have proved that you can have high taxes and shit public services. The trick is to spunk as much money as possible on IT projects which don't work. Why lower taxes when you can spend the money on the Childrens' Index and other such bullshit projects?

I would like to thank the NHS for bringing my mate back from a flatline 6 weeks ago, filthy or not. He was a gonna and now he's out and about again. So lets at least thank the doctors and nurses for still being able to work in the shitholes they call hospitals nowadays.

You look at all the countries that have decent public services and they pay higher taxes than we do in the UK.

NuLabour do waste our money - the Iraq war for instance.

But the only way you are going to get better public services is by increasing taxes. Any party that does that gets voted out unfortunately.

You seem to think that the UK is a low tax country. It is not. The govt taxes about 40% of GDP as it stands. I believe I am right in saying that the tax take as a %age of GDP in the UK has now overtaken Germany, usually seen as a high tax country.

We are not undertaxed, we do not get value for money, because we are governed by a bunch of dimbulbs who could never have hacked it in private industry. Check it out: Tony B. Liar was an undistinguished barrister, but he goes into politics and ends up PM. Similar party hacks end up trying to control billion pound spending programmes. Is it any wonder the money gets pissed away with nothing to show for it?

It's a freakin' disgrace. Gordon Brown has pumped untold billions of our hard earned dosh into the NHS over recent years ? but in many areas of the service there has been little or no improvement at all. Some Health Trusts are virtually bankrupt and wards are filthy. Where has all the freakin? money gone? The money that Gordon has fleeced from our pension funds, the outrageous tax he levies every time we go to fill our tanks up? Where is it, because it seems no one can see billions of pounds worth of improvements to the service. Has Gordon and his wanky Health Minister associates been laughing up their sleeves at us suckers? Have they simply squandered the money on their public sector pals ? on pay rises and other jollies? Maybe he?s given it to African despots ? to, er, relive poverty. The British people didn?t vote for that, they voted for new hospitals, equipment, medicines, competent caring staff, and clean wards. Gordon and his pals have shafted us ? are we going to stand for it?

Here?s an article from the Guardian ?

P.S. Remember Health Minister, Frank ?Dobbo? Dobson? Wasn?t he a knob? He looked like Captain Freakin? Birdseye, and talked half the sense. No wonder Tony fucked him off.
