War records???

Post by BeestonBoy »

Me again!!

Not to put too finer point on it my Grandad was some what of a bad 'un!! But he was a "war hero" (I think) but when he died my sweet gray haired old Granny got rid of all his things in a huge bloody fire. Now I want too trace his war records through the M.O.D but i need his service number and his N.I number. Does any one know how i can get these without trying too get me Gran to stare at a swinging watch whilst i talk slower and slower....1 2 3 your under!! Any help really really appreciated folks

Peace out

British Legion would be my first start. I once owned a whole chunk of the war records. All assosiated to the first, Crimea and Bore. I obtained the medical stuff, like who had shell shock and who was insane and stuff like that. I gifted it to the correct people, I even had the dead book, bit sad stuff really. It even had who visited them and how much money they had in their pockets when they died,

Good Luck,

We had to wait over 25 years after my grandad's death before they released his records - definitely a bad un!!
Hope you find what you are looking for. Good Luck.
