Firefox 2

Post by Sam Slater »

Has anybody installed this yet?

I have, and must say I'm impressed.

One of the features lets you restore everything as it was, in case of a crash.

I was downloading the James Bond trailer whilst typing a reply on this forum. It made Firefox crash for some reason, and upon restarting it gave me the option to restore my previous session. Upon the restore I found myself back with all my text still within the reply box!

I also like the fact the even at RC3 stage addons, plugins and Greasemonkey have all been updated as they were found to be incompatible.

I'm surprised their are lots of updated extensions & addons already. The British dictionary is good. At least my spelling is checked as I'm typing my replies.

On a side note: Have you every tried Opera Jacques? I've never tried it but always got a positive response from people that do use it.

Opera yes. I don't really browse with it as a hell of alot of website aren't too compatible. I mostly use it to check my xhtml and css is cross-site friendly, but it is a very good browser.

Oh and my comment was a dig at someone for having a shit attitude towards making sites cross-browser friendly.

I haven't really noticed any difference from Firefox 1.5 except I've lost a few extensions that I always used to use. But, I like the spell checker whenever you enter text.
Are you actually speaking english, or are you just making up words as you go along? I do that too...
