Get insurance.

Mine costs ?16 a month from Denplan and everything is covered apart from the extra lab work for making crowns etc.

I have had tooth ache for nearly a year.... The gold crown's been removed.... Root canel etc... must have spent nearly ?1000 and it still hurts. Passed to a Hospital for an MRI scan, and am awaiting the result of the scan.
If (hope) scan shows nothing else causing the "REFERED" pain then I am not paying another ?300 plus to put another crown on as it's too painful to eat on. Just have to have it removed.... then I can look forward to the THOUSANDS of Pounds for a bridge...

No NHS Dentists in this part south east... One started up in our town, then just a year later she went Private and now only works 2 days a week.......

I'm considering moving dentists but don't want to get stung for new x-rays or signing on fees - I wish they'd move your records around like the quacks do.

My dentist who I thought was very good eventually went totally private. After a while I stopped and registered recently with an NHS practice near me. They mucked me around with my appointment. I eventually saw the dentist and found it a completely unprofessional service. The assistant argued with him and couldn't work the computer. No X-rays and he said I needed a filling which he couldn't do then, (but I gad to pay when I left).

I thought sod this and went back to my old dentist who said, no filling needed, just slight wear on the enamel.

I have decided as with most things, you get what you pay for.
