Classic arcade games

Post by Arnold Layne »

Not being one for X Box 360's etc (although Dead rising on it is great fun) I got a decent mobile phone and am now reliving my youth playing some great classics. I even bought a classics collection for my psp (the only other game I own is Poker) which has Paperboy etc on, although my all time favourite has to be Ghosts & Goblins, and Kung fu master (I've Ghosts and Goblins on my xmas list as I see it's just out) I did hate Streetfighter, as you had to be a fucking contortionist to perform those moves on it, even going back to the old Commodore 64 days, anyone remember those shoot em ups? with the really cool loading music by some guy called Rob Hubbard I think?

Bukkake shots where you are with a few other guys...is fucking gay.

In fact, about pulling trains with a woman...you wanna have sex with other guys and mix your sperm with theirs...you're just using a woman as a conduit.

My favourites were Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong JR as well as Kung-Fu Master where you had to go up 5 levels before rescuing the girl at the end and starting all over again, each time getting harder. I also loved Ikari Warrior and Indiana Jones and The Temple Of Doom.

Another favourite (although I can't think of the name for it) was a martial arts game where after each time of defeating your opponent, you were faced with things coming at you such as bulls, china etc. It was played with two joysticks and the referee would give you half point or full point depending on how good your move was.

LOVED ''Manic Miner'', ''Cookie'' and ''Daley Thompson's Decathlon'' on an old borrowed Spectrum way back in the early 1980s.
The ''Decathlon'' game used to wreck the keyboard, especially if you made it all the way to the final event, the 1500m.
I've still got an old Atari machine from 1982 and despite all the advances in consoles etc, their original version of ''Space Invaders'' (with 112 different games on the one cartridge) was NEVER surpassed by anything.
Don't get me wrong, I love all the footy games and FPS WW2 games on my PS2, but there was something really special about ''Spaceys''...
Ah, halcyon days...

Get an xbox 360 if you haven`t already and saints row then, it`ll keep you going til GTA 4 comes out which`ll have exclusive downloadable content on the 360.
Dead rising is also excellent
