Following on the house crime bit.... Watched the Christmas real hustle where the message was.... do not leave houshold utillity bills out in your recycle box. (Not for the usual identity theft reason)

Jesse went along a couple of houses checking their boxes and soon found a bill. She then phoned a Locksmith saying she had been locked out of her house. The Locksmith turned up and asked for proof that she lived there, she asked all innocently if a utillity bill would be ok..... he said that was fine. And in a matter of minutes he had picked the lock. She paid the locksmith with a false Company cheque..... and this property's address on the back. 30 min later she left with thousands of pounds of property in a couple of useful suitcases that she easily found in the house.
