What the chuff is the Chancellor doing comparing the Scottish devolution issue with the Balkans??

I live 7 miles from Scotland, work with and play Golf /Squash with loads of Scots and not one of them is remotely interested in devolution.

The bastard is shitting himself. He is about to grab power, and it looks as if the SNP will win control in Scotland and force through a referendum on independence. Even NuLabor would find it challenging to justify a citizen of an independent Scotland being Prime Minister of England (& Wales & NI perhaps), so in the event of an SNP win in Scotland he will have to spend months of his time ensuring the Jocks vote to keep the Union (and him in his job).

Personally I couldn't give a stuff either way, and if Brown is kept busy on this, it might at least distract him from his plans to tax us to buggery and spunk the money on the likkul braan baybeez in Africa.

I think the recent upsurge in SNP support is more to do with the Government's foreign policys rather than a patriotic support of independence.People in Scotland are fed up with the 3 main partys and are looking for an alternative.

Like you say no one is talking about independence in Scotland and this is why brown is warning everybody not to be naive and not to use there vote as a protest vote,as you could be walking blindly into independence.

Im Scottish but am also proud to be British,I personally would hate the SNP to get into power.

My mates old man is a typical Scot. He says that if Scotland go their own way, they'd be unable to complain about the English anymore. One thing Scots love to do is complain about the English, and thus will stay within the UK just for that one right! !laugh!

To be honest the Scots and Welsh are in a shit position. They've a chance to get their long awaited independence, and then just start to take orders off nosey Frenchmen from Brussels.
