Well - having also heard all the hype - I watched an episode of Series 2 on TV a couple of weeks back and I thought it was decidedly average.

Couldn't see what all the fuss was about, to be honest. I've seen worse - but I've also seen better. I was definitely underwhelmed.

However, maybe it's one of those things you need to see right from the beginning so I'd be willing to give it another go.

Second series is very good, but not a patch on the first.
Too many Sweeney cliches for me, but still better than most stuff on TV at the moment

The West London of my youth is now on dvd

Television doesn't really get any better than this.
