Saw an old Minder re-run today that featured a stripper who's name was Candy Davies. Did this actress appear in anything h/c? I also recall a lady from the same era, Debbie Linden, who appeared in 'Are you being Served?' who went on to do 'naughty stuff. Im aware of a Candy Samples, but Candy Davies has a familiar ring to it. (No jokes, please)

I think Candy Davies was the second girl who played Mr Grace's nurse in Are You Being Served?. Her predecesor in the role, Pat Astley, had previously doen some h/c shorts. Don't know about Candy Davies though.

What 'naughty stuff' did Debbie Linden do?

My mistake Alec, I have my wires crossed. Miss Linden was, as far as I can remember, a page three girl. Candy Davis was a replacement for Pat Astley who was sacked by BBC for her 'naughty' stuff. But she did look familiar with that Marilyn Monroe peroxide hair.

Hi, Candy was my girlfriend twice!!!! Once when she was fifteen (i didn't know honest) and then again when she was about 23/24.

She is a very intelligent creature with an IQ of 169 and a father who was professor of astrophysics at London University.

She was in fact Mr Grace's secretary in are you being served for three seasons.

She didn't do hardcore as far as I know, not professionally anyway!

She appeared as "hostess" In Electric Blue does Ibitha about EB number 40-something.

She also appears in cheap crap video NUDE MISS UK which she won.

She also appeared in a British cult B movie called Underworld which was all dark dank and prosthetics.


Cant recall anything else of note, except that she is a lovely creature and very sexy if extremely complicated and insecure.

Debbie Linden was also a little sweetie but unfortunately fell into bad ways with too much drugs.....Candy married actor Gary Olsen (2.4 kids) and he became a great friend of mine after they split up.....he of course died last year in Australia aged just 42....god bless you Gary!

I was a very big fan of Candy Davis and Debbie Linden.

As for Lord John being Candy's boyfriend when she was 23/24, all I can say is - you bastard!

I saw Debbie in a Fiona Richmond style "playlet" in Bristol in 1987 or so with - I was in the same pub as her afterwards, just round the back of the Hippodrome there. She was with Natalie Banus, who had been in the same show.

Very sadly Debbie got hooked on drugs and died last year, I think, aged just 36.

Life's a real bummer at times.
