Up until about the 1960's this country had a long established tradition of due deference towards people who we were taught were are "betters". These people came exclusively from the aristocracy and the landed gentry. It was drilled into us at an early age that we must show these people forelock tugging respect at all costs, and even if these people committed crimes, we still had to show them esteem and reverence. Of course all that has changed. However, the act of deference still exists. We now have to show respect and admiration towards chavs, pikeys and mongs.
These chavs, pikeys and mongs have been officially permitted to act in the exact manner as the idle rich of the Regency period. Then, the bloated, mind-numbingly thick, bastard off-spring of the aristocracy could do virtually what they wished without the fear of any form of censure or prosecution. Today in the 21st Century the same rule applies. The bloated, mind-numbingly thick bastard off-spring of the self inflicted "poverty-class" can do virtually what they want without fear of any form of censure or prosecution, and indeed they literally get away with murder!!
