It has just struck me that i could never become a Member of Parliament because i have never indulged in illegal drugs, it seems that once you become an MP your past dosnt matter just admit that you once done drugs and that clears your slate so what message does this send out to young people, do drugs and then become a MP and if you make it into the Cabinet just confess your sins and that makes it ok, Not such a good start for PM Brown who appointed a new Home Secretary who admits to using Cannabis at the same time they want to upgrade it.

As an afterthought if you have done drugs but still think you are worthy of being an MP should you not reveal this to the the electrorate before you stand for election not once you have been elected, the Lunatics are running the Asylum !confused!!sleep!!thumbsdown!

The wrong one if doing a Cameron. Possibly the right one if coming clean and saying you've done the wrong thing inspires other to change.
The trouble is coming clean is usually done to stop bad press.
When the new Home Sec got the job ? signs will have flashed to some "I did drugs with her wanna buy my story........." and the media go oh yes.
Not sure what the answer is very few people have ever not done something wrong if we stood no doubt some idiot 'would say they watch / buy porn.........' Nothing good would come to light just the were pervs who like to see women getting laid.
As far a drug use is concerned if people have learned the error of their ways then fair play to them trouble is how do we know they have or if it's just something in the media to prevent flack.

You can be an MP if you've smoked pot, taken back-handers and cheated on your wife! But if you admit you like looking at adult porn, then you won't stand a chance of even being selected as an MP!!
