Employment Law question

Post by Ace »

I work a solid 8 hour day and today my cunty employer said I HAD to have an hour break in that time, so am now stuck at work an hour longer. Is this a case of grin and bear it or can I 'opt out' or is it a maximum of 30 minute break? Is my break an unpaid one etc etc

You need to check that in your contract of employment. If your employer is 'forcing' you to have an hour's break then you should be paid for it!

Thanks Wazza.....its what I was told, all that Health & Safety bollocks.
Fuckers, eh?
Mind you, every 4 hours I get a PAID 15 minute break? if I work 8 hours, so I get 2 x 15 minutes PAID break and a 30 minute UNPAID one?

No. Lunch breaks are paid - if you work over 30 hours per week!

Always check your contract of employment!

Mmm, could be. All I can say is that I get paid for having one hour lunch breaks.
