Wait for it though. How about, 'If so much money wasn't being spent on 'Homeland Security' more could be spent on the several thousand sub standard bridges in the US that are known to require work.'

They reckon that thousands of bridges in the US are needing repaired. This one was not a high priority, in spite of carrying over 100,000 vehicles a day, and was scheduled to be replaced in 2020.

Wonder what the urgent repair bridges are like.

The bridge featured here was due for repair in 2020 even though it was deemed as structually flawed in 1990!!!!!

Why worry about the terrorist threat when you live in the wealthiest country on earth and this is allowed to happen

It proved to me how little respect and care a government could have for those it is supposed to represent and govern. But then, all the important people (those with money) had already moved out before the hurricane struck.
