R18 reviews?

Are there any decent R18 review sites on the net? There's quite a lot of films to choose from nowadays, so it would be handy to be able to sort out the bad from the good.

Just to avoid any misunderstanding - since Your Choice do not sell R18 it is only chance if something they have has also been released as R18.

RG may have been referring to R18 in general rather than ones specifically featuring British girls. There are some reviews of the latter on this site.

And thank God that Your Choice still supply stuff that has not been butchered by the BBFC. Ben Dover titles are the exception to this rule. He cuts them himself. Which upsets me Ben as you were always my favourite Uncle. And yet you deprive me of the wet scenes! I still think you are the BEST but please stop censoring your own films.

It's not Ben's fault. His US distributor VCA doesn't accept films with pissing/squirting (or A2M) in, so send your Watchdog style letters of complaint to them not him.

Wrong again Mr Gobble Strudel. The versions he submits for R18 are different to the VCA releases. And the Your Choice versions are different again as they come direct from Bens own UK mastertapes. He cuts the pissing for two resons. First so that the YC version does not compete with the r18 and secondly so that people go to his website to see the piss clips.

I do not have a problem with pissing scenes being cut from a video or DVD. I get no pleasure watching that, so that would improve it for me.

However if I were to get a Ben Dover DVD from HMV, what else would be cut?

Would I get girls I like getting anal sex, or licking each other, or would be the same tame '18' rubbish the government ('do as I say, not as I do') has deemed as hard enough for us for time immemmorial?

It makes me laugh how for years you have not been able to legally buy on film in this country what you can legally do in the bedroom!

While Golostruda takes a smoke break, can you also explain the economics behind Ben's thinking? I'm not gonna buy TWO copies of the same tape, so I'll always go for the uncut version as opposed to the R18. So he's no worse off financially.
Is he gambling that the majority of punters will be unaware of the existence of the 'harder' version, and therefore be happy with the R18?

In the case of recent Ben Dovers the R18 is the 'harder' version. The R18 has pissing [plus A2M etc] in it, the VCA and Your Choice versions have it removed. It's another example of how bizarre the various different laws of the lands are that you can buy legally buy the 'hard' (R18) version in your local porn store, yet if buying mail order from the UK or abroad you are actually getting a softer version! As pointed out in the initial post, it is only Ben's films this really applies to, as a glance at the film info on www.bbfc.co.uk would demonstrate.

Re magoo's response to my earlier post, I think the confusion here is between DVD and VHS. As a disc person with a long shelved video player, I don't know anything about the VHS side of things, but the Ben Dover DVDs on sale at Your Choice are in my experience usually the American VCA versions (I suspect because unlike vids Ben doesn't have the facility to make his own DVDs).
