band you saw before they were famous ?

I saw Marillion at the Red Lion public House in Crete Hall Road in Gravesend in 1979, there was 5 people in the audience and the band were actually quite good.

Guns N Roses but exactly where is a blur. It was on an early UK tour when they had released Appetite for Destruction but it hadn't registered with anybody at that time. It took a year or so for them to really take off, as I recall.

About 1986 ish. I still have the t-shirt somewhere.

When there wasn't a name band playing saturday nights at Leeds Uni SU back in the early 70s, there would be a disco with an unknown, usually local, band supporting it. One night the 'support' was Roxy Music, unheard of, before the first single and album, looking and sounding amazing. And only 15p to get in.

My 2 big ones that I saw before they were "big" are arcade fire and kings of leon

My uncle went to pretty much every joy division gig before they got big
