Magoo,
Crop rotation is still practised by organic farmers and was quite widespread in England up until 1945 when the government introduced subsidies for every acre under production. This meant farmers started to use chemicals instead and that the traditional farmers could not compete.

Traditional farmers then were self sufficient and anarchic and the government saw them as a threat. Subsidies were designed to break them. Today many farmers are returning to the old methods of rotation and organic farming. This is what I am doing at the moment.

!laugh! I once worked at a place where one of the blokes who used to come in on a regular basis was a biker called Harry. He was known by every one every where as "Harry the Bastard" Being one of the nicest chaps you could ever hope to meet he was always some what perplexed by this name.

As far as I know no one to this day has ever actually explained the reasons him being called that. Poor soul!! Could give a chap a complex
