Trawling deep below, I came across a Private link (thanks AntoniN !!), to a new shop site, where they DO apparently still have the TX/Stories/VideoMag series on VHS, at 25 bux a throw.
Sorry for the dud info guys, but why they aren't on the other site is anyone's guess: had they bothered to reply to my plaintive e-mails with this info, we'd all have been spared much hassle.
Be still my beating heart, off to order shitloads of Brit oldies........

Re: Private drive me mad!!!!!!
Looks good but why are the prices in dollars? Does that mean NTSC format do you think?

Re: Private drive me mad!!!!!!
You can specify either when ordering: make sure you do this.
But, being European, they don't charge extra for NTSC, unlike a lot of US outfits who charge extra for PAL: one-way traffic again.....
BTW, the VidMags are only 20 bux.

Re: Private drive me mad!!!!!!
I have always been told that Private didn't do video in the early to mid eighties. However, I used to have one of these videos and it looked like it might be at least mid 80s. Can anyone say when the first one was made and if so which brit models were in the early ones? I know many a british model did photo stuff on location during that time and as we all know location work often entails cramming several photoshoots and a video (or two?) into the limited time.

Re: Private drive me mad!!!!!!
AFAIK, the earliest titles on VIDEO were the Private Film and Stories series, from the early 90s: whether they were originally available on 8mm or something, and whether there was earlier stuff shot on film stock I leave to the experts.
Given that no-one seems to have attempted to re-format them a la Ribu/Tabu etc, it doesn't seem likely earlier stuff existed in the first place.

Re: Private drive me mad!!!!!!
My dealings with "Private" have always been in Spain, where tapes are always PAL, I imagine if you ordered from yhe States you would get NTSC. Compareing jj's web site with the Spanish one, I cannot see any difference in prices or anything else, except that the Spanish seems a bit more up to date. By the way, where is that"se" at the end of the web address?
