Led Zepp to reform?

Post by Arginald Valleywater »

Seems the Telegraph are running a rumour the mighty Zepp will reform, for a one off, as per fucking usual in London. At the O2. Ebay will love it, mad Yanks will pay thousands to see them.

Now I know Plant is still in top form but very unsure as to Page or J P Jones. Their Live Aid show and Atlantic Anniversary performances where pretty bloody awful. 27 years is way too long. Let the legend rest boys, the gig will be a mega corporate bun fight, your real fans won't get near it.

To be a rock bun, and not two rolls.

The local paper to Planty, the Wolverhampton Express and Star published a variant to that. Apparently at least one package operator is selling tickets and the O2 Arena- that's the Dome to you and I- are not denying it.

But it will be a memorial concert for the late great Ahmet Ertegun- with a big charity input.

And the night before- Cream are reforming [again] for one night for the same purpose. Apparently. Allegedly.

Saw Zeppellin several times when they were at their peak. Didnt think they were in the same leauge as Cream whose reunion concerts at RAH a couple of years ago were great.Zep's reunions were awful but maybe if they rehearse...

Yes Carlisle won again, marvellous though by reports not a good match, still 3 points is 3 points....and PNE blew it, bet Simmo wished he kept the 6 bed house at Hayton!

Back to Zepp, awesome band, Plant live is still great but I fear this would be a massive anti-climax. Without Bonham this is not a musically viable project, he was the major part of their sound. Page is well past it and the last Who performance I saw was minging.

And by all accounts money isn't an issue, Page and Plant are still in the Times rich list....with Waters, Gilmour, Macca, Clapton, Sting and George err that Greek bloke!

According to Nicky Horne on Planet Rock there will be an official anouncment about this next week.

I, for one, hope it doesn't happen as it will be a complete disaster.

Keith,
