Film Reviewers - Useful or useless?

Reviews are a welcome sight when trying to choose a film to see but i really do wish there was some type of disclosure as to who the reviewers are and how they are qualified so the review can be seen in perspective

Some are complete crap, some very good. Takes a while to sort out the wheat from the dross. They've never put me off going to see a movie, though----not unless all of them shout "Turkey!" in agreement.

Agreed, although when reviewing any art, a review is only a personal opinion, and we all differ in tastes.

It's not like reviewing a digital camera, or TV, where comparisons against previous models can be discussed as fact, rather than feeling.

I'm so old I can remember when he did TV film reviews, on ITV. The sort of guy whose intellectual brilliance never threatens you.

I still think opinions are more valuable to you have an idea of the reviewer as a person given that a lot of reviews seem to be nothing more than flowerly waffle

I would say get a Cineworld Unlimited card, then you can see everything without the risk of paying through the nose for it. It's only ?11.99 (up north) and you can see as many films as you like for that price. That's what we do because opinions are like assholes, everybody's got them, and they don't all neccessarily agree x
