Re: Eurostar
1hr 51 London - Brussels from 9 Dec - I remember the old Dover - Ostend boat taking nearly four hours ... London to Brussels was seven hours, just fifteen or so years ago.
I've seen the timetable - Brussels will be a fabulous day trip when the new line opens. And Eurostar have promised to keep the current prices starting at ?59 return.
The fast line from Brussels to Amsterdam opens in the next year - even 4 hours city centre beats the plane, Schipol being worse for Amsrerdam than Stansted is for London.
And I think when everything is fully up and runnig, Eurostar will do the London - Paris trip in under 2 hours. It has to be done.
Who needs planes!
