Techie Help Please

My old computer crashed last week so i am now using another one but if i want to quote a message on these forums nothing happens when i click the quote button and its the same if i try to reply to an email if i click the reply button nothing happens, now i know i need to enable or disenable something but what, i have turned off pop up blocker and set security to low but it makes know difference, any help would be greatly appreciated,thanks !thumbsup!

Hi Jacques, yes Java script is enabled i am running xp the same as my old comp and never had these problems with that.

Are you using IE?

If so enable (under scripting) "Active scripting", "Allow paste operations via script", and "Scripting of Java applets".

You have lost me now Jacques, Java console says i have Java Plug-in 1.6_02
Using JRE version 1.6.0_02 Java Hot Spot (TM} Client VM User home directory=C\Documents and settings\user. !confused!

Internet Explorer:

Tools > Internet Options > Security

In the "Web Content Zones"

Internet > Custom Level

In "Security Settings" scroll down until you find the heading "Scripting".

The Scripting heading will have the subheadings "Active scripting", "Allow paste operations via script", and "Scripting of Java applets".

Enable them and click OK when exiting each window.

I have tried all of that Jacques but it still dosnt work, the geyser who configured this comp put in so much security its unbelievable i will probably have to clean it all off and re programme with less security, thanks for your help.

Jacques you are a genius, i have just taken the avice you gave to Trumpton and ran Panda it found 4 viruses and 2 trojan horses and it sorted the viruses and 1 of the trojans and everthing is working fine again now, i had only used the computer a shortwhile and its picked these things up just goes to show how carefull you need to be, thanks again Jacques !thumbsup!
