Action over "simulators"

Post by Pervert »

Hopefully, since the managers refuse to do anything about the cheats, the football authorities are ready to act:

Nothing said in this report about the fact that a Scot tried the same thing, but got nothing and wasn't reported to the officials. Call me old-fashioned, but I'd rather see my team win fairly, rather than some chancing wee jobbie doing the dying swan act in the box to win a penalty.

I was watching the re-run of the Sporting Lisbon v Man Utd game last night and noticed that the Sporting players were diving all over the shop in the first 20 mins. To the refs credit they got nothing and he finally brandished a card to one of them.

They stopped diving after that.

I think they try it on with some refs and see if they get anything. If it looks like their playacting isn't working then they cut it out.

It's hard for the refs if a player is very convincing, so I think there should be some sort of post match review, and if anyone's caught cheating then they get a yellow card awarded for each dive. If that means 2 for the game being reviewed then they miss the next match.

People say it wouldn't work, but they review matches and ban players when violence has occurred.
