And yes, it is funny----but then I am a sick man.

Fortunately, there were no serious consequences, but there is something rather comic about these mobility scooters. Irn Bru did an advert with a pensioner on one ramraiding a supermarket. Even funnier, if less reverential, I got told about someone attending a very somber funeral, but being reduced to hysterical tears of painful laughter when someone in a scooter in the church got stuck and put the thing into reverse: lights, siren, the works.

There was an incident not far from me a year or two back. Woman wasn't allowed on the last bus with her buggy (didn't have a ramp to get on, wasn't enough room), so decided to try the ten mile journey home in said buggy. Queue of dozens of vehicles behind her, and of course she ran out of power part of the way home. Winter. Night. All that could go wrong did go wrong.
