midnight crash

Post by fudgeflaps »

We had so mant posts pre-midnight.

Then it all goes quiet!!

Lizard has his new tea-device, so no excuses there.

jj may be a werewolf, we just don't know.

Trumpton may have to guard his windaes in case they get tanned.

Wise sage Sam is probably researching the existence of God.

Why does this happen?

Sam may sometimes seem far away, but he is with you, and watching over you when you sleep.

Sam is everywhere. He may be a tree, or but a mere fly. He is a superconscious being, the spiritual broadband, you can call on him to mentally download the answers to your problems.

He is not Sam.

He is called Psalm.

I was thinking something similar about this the other night.

It was really busy on the forum and I was having trouble just keeping up with the posts, and then it just stops dead.

After about 30-50 mins someone will post something and then they all come back posting manically again. I was laughing to myself because I was half trawling the net, and had the forums up in another tab, just waiting for somebody to post something worth replying to, and I thought, "I wonder how many posters weren't actually away from their pc, but just hangin round waiting for a post to reply to?"

Another theory was that they piss off to watch the adult previews and then come back when they're finished !laugh!

It can be a quandry- when one thread has died it's death and no other response seems appropriate, it can be tricky coming up with a half-decent new topic.

20 different posters sat their thinking 'where's everybody gone?' !laugh!

I seriously think this happens at times.

It has to be spontaneous, or there's not much point. Posting just for the sake of it becomes tiresome to you, and to the people who can smell the desperation. If something interests me, on the news or in sport or whatever, I'll mention it. The danger is, though, that some agenda posters get involved and it becomes an argument about politics, religion, race and all the fixed positions are adhered to once more.

True, true. Emotive subjects always get more replies. I think that because we're communicating textually, it's hard to have a prolonged conversation unless you feel strongly on a matter. It just doesn't stimulate people like a similar conversation would face to face.

Since only emotive subjects get replies, then that's why flame wars and arguments are common over the net.
