The trouble is that you compare pornography in this country with that in Europe and conclude that it would flourish and become open to the same extent if only the authorities werent so "prudish" in this country.
You think that British girls would and should be as liberated/ up-for-it etc as their European counterparts. Unfortunately the home grown talent in those countries is quite thin on the ground
as well because the porn made in any given country (even Germany) relies extremely heavily on girls who have travelled there from outside (usually the Eastern bloc) and in most cases are hoping that they can keep it secret from the folks back home. The home
grown talent in the main goes in the opposite direction for the
same reason.
The idea that British girls are more repressed and camera shy than German or French girls is a myth and the message that often
comes across on this forum that everybodys sister/girlfriend/
daughter should get into the porn business and that the Government should stop discouraging it because we are "backward" is pernicious crap. I would love to know how happy the users of
this forum would actually be if their own sister/girlfriend/
daughter became involved in porn as a result of this country's
home-grown hard-core porn industry becoming as big and commonplace as they advocate. I dont think our "moral gaurdians" are as wrong as you libertarian loud-mouths like to make out.

I just dont like the idea of girls (and the rest of us) being
conned into thinking that doing hardcore porn is not a big deal
because "the rest of the World doesnt have a problem with it".
The fact is that most of the women you see in porn films in
Germany for example are not German. The German porn industry
would be as small as the British porn industry if it did not
make such heavy use of Czechs,Hungarians,Russians etc. If the
British porn industry tried to get that big just using British
girls and bringing it all out into the open it would probably
be very harmful.
I was also thinking about that statistic which says that 80000 women in this country work (if only occasionally) as prostitutes. If you work it out thats one in ten of all women between 18 and 40 who are feasibly attractive enough. I bet not many of them would like that to be out in the open.
I think we should be careful what we wish for, to coin a phrase.

Yes, my psychoanalysis of Moby?s posts is suggesting that he has a deep-rooted problem with sex that he is probably unaware of. His body is telling him it is good, but his social programming his telling him it is bad. As you pointed out jj the use of the word "harm" in this particular context is very significant. He goes on to have a dig at "Libertarians" and suggest that moral guardians (Ann Widecombe?) are not too far wrong. He also mentions that one would not wish to find out that one's daughter, sister, mother etc, is a whore - presumably because he finds it 'dirty' and degrading? and by extension the ladies who do work in the sex industry. I am beginning to detect a faint whiff of (genuine) misogyny in Moby?s posts. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it turned out that he couldn't resist visiting prostitutes and after shagging them felt disposed to slap them about a bit for being 'dirty whores.'

Personally I couldn't give two hoots if a close female relation/friend worked in the sex industry (better that than being a low paid nobody at McDonalds, or Tesco.) The only thing I would be concerned about was that they made a good living and were safe - probably from the likes of Moby.

Women over the last 20 years have been getting into more & more higher paying jobs,hence forth in my humble view the lack of talent wanting to pursue a career in porn,not this reputation

Would be interested to know just how much a female pornstar could make in a year.Is the work regular or is it like modelling-sporatic.

As too these imports from other countries well just down too economics-they are paid a pittance.I once read where in Prague the girls would do almost anything for a third of the price that you would pay in Britain.I would expect even the lower paying jobs in Germany pay more than you could earn doing porn.
