Great first series, especially Peter Vaughan as Wolfies' prospective father-in-law.
A bit dated nowadays, but yes, fondly remembered as Wolfies' prosective mother-in-law as well

Re: Hilda Braid - RIP.
Yes I will always remember her calling him foxy
Played a fantastic part as his girlfriend's dotty mum
A good solid British actress who always contributed a lot
in her supporting roles - RIP
Also agree that Peter Vaughn has been a fine actor down the years

Re: Hilda Braid - RIP.
>Nah - surely for being Wolfie Smith's girlfriend's mum
Yes, Citizen Smith, that takes me back.
I can remember one episode where she was polishing the furniture.
She then picked up the apples and polished each one of them one by one.
Later the dad came in and picked up an apple to eat it, and wondered why it tasted so funny.
Did you know that Citizen Smith was written by the same guy who wrote Only Fools and Horses?
And of course Peter Vaughan played "grouty" in Porridge, the guy who "ran" slade prison.
