As I said on the other thread, I have this installed but hardly ever use it. What I don't like about it is that the text is thin and spiderish. Whereas with IE7, the text is bold and chunky.

It just looks thin and spidary because you're used to the chunky -and I think, blurry- font in IE7.

The font in Firefox and Opera is much clearer, and crisp.

Mind you, the font on Apple's Safari browser owns. Dunno if Windows Safari is the same.

Yes Trumpy; you just enable cleartype in windows.

In XP: Right-click any part of your desktop and choose 'Properties', then the 'Appearance' tab, then click on 'Effects'.

Make sure the box 'Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts' is ticked, and then select 'CrearType' from the dropdown list. Click 'OK', the 'Apply' before exiting, and not only Firefox, but your whole system will have the font you like.

Trumpy, visit the update site of Mozilla Firefox, there are lots of Mods for it, I have loads installed, & 1 of them is a Style changer, where you can change the layout, colour scheme, background, etc etc etc.

Also, in the View Menu at the top of the page, there is functions to change the font/text/character encoding etc...

Thanks Sam, I didn't know about that function, I've made a note of that.

You can also change the settings in the View Menu of Firefox Browser, but that's just a text/font size, not what your refering to here, lol.

This is because most companies just adopt the microsoft product blindly. Lots of big companies still use Win98, but that doesn't mean Win98 is better than XP.
