Anton Rodgers RIP
Died a few days ago. Great character actor. One of his most famous roles was as the Pinner solictor in BBCs May to December, produced by Verity Lambert recently of this parish.
Re: Anton Rodgers RIP
Used to enjoy watching him in many a ITC series as guest saw him a few weeks back in The Saint.

Re: Anton Rodgers RIP
I'm sure he was in at least one episode of (Diana Rigg days) The Avengers. Apparently during an operation in his late 20s, two thirds of his stomach was replaced with plastic, following ill health since birth.
Re: Anton Rodgers RIP
Most memorable for me being murdered by a chilling Edward Fox in the original and best version of the Day of the Jackal.
Re: Anton Rodgers RIP
Sad to hear this. I liked him in straight roles. Didn't care much
for his May to December and fresh fields comedy parts though as
those shows were not that funny in my opinion

Re: Anton Rodgers RIP
I wasn't confusing the two, but you are correct. It appears AR wasn't in any episodes. Bowles appeared 4 times as a different character each time.

Re: Anton Rodgers RIP
He was superb in Day of the Jackal.
He only had a ?bit-part?, only on screen for a few minutes, but still a really good performance.
The original was a tremendous film.
I know I have this thing about Hollywood remakes ? but why do they bother ?
The re-make with Bruce Willis was absolute shite! The re-make also had Dick Gere as a ?hero? IRA man.
The remake was made in ?97, before 9-11 of course. Wasn?t it strange how after 9-11 the yanks fell out of love with terrorist organisations?
You look at the original, and every single actor in it, no matter how minor the role could act Willis off the screen
Have a look at the cast list for the original film on IMDB
All of them had more acting in their little fingers than Willis and Gere put together.
