I thought that would get your attention.

I was listening to Jersey Jaxins interview on Shelley Lubbens myspace site www.myspace.com/shelleylubben i thought it was quite a well put together site and thought she had a good argument for being antip orn being that she was a former pornstar and prostitute herself.

Where it all falls down for me is when people leave the porn industry (and I am not being unsympathetic here) why do they always bang on about God and Jesus Christ. They would have more credibility to me if they just said so and so treated me like dirt and I hate them for it. In fact you are all ass holes and I despise everyone of you.

I dont want to knock anyones faith which it sounds like UI'm doing but dont you think they have given up one mindset for another that seems intangible?

Shelley seems all the better for it dont get me wrong but I just dont understand Americas religious inclination to Christianity at all and wonder why their belief in God and Jesus Christ saved them.

Am I missing something here.

The dead porn stars and their deaths bit was fascinating but logic dictates that maybe they were mentally unstable before they got intothe porn industry.

I'll say one thing to her defence though. You gotta be a little bit crazy to be in it in the first place.

But then who isnt?

I am impressed with her site though even if I dont agree with her entirely and agree that some of the people who have fallen foul of the industry has been a sad state of affairs to say the least.

Well yes. Of course it is. Its like watching a movie with special effects and great stunts except its designed to sexually stimulate you and if needs be, have a jolly good wank to.

Some people may find real porn dull which is why th emarket caters too high energy and extreme stuff for those who need an adrenaline shot in their nether regions...but that is all it is.

People who beleive that is how you should go around treating women are obviously emotionally immature but I'll be the first to put my hand up and say : I never asked to be anyones role model.

A far more balanced statement covering her experiences in the industry(good & bad)followed by her journey to where she is now would be a whole lot more meaningful than "I owe my life the jesus christ"

Theres a good line of dialogue in Blood Diamond where something was said about why doesnt God help us and he said God left this place a long time ago.

Subscribing to that thought for now (yeah I know its only a movie) but why would God leave a continent of people to suffer in favour of saving a single person who had the choice to become a porn star and prostitute?

The cynical side of me would think that Africa was too much trouble to correct so lets save the pretty white woman from her choice compared to a nation of people with no choice then that speaks volumes to me.

If anything I'd be more inclined to say religion is all lies. At least porn doesnt claim to be anything than it is.

I could go on a tirade mission on this but it wouldnt be fair to Shellys situation as I'm sure she has had a terrible experience in the adult industry but then she shouldve just quit and decided it wasnt the career of choice for her. Instead like a lot of people she wants to bring it all down.

I for one would like to see how she can shut down the great american flesh machine. The truth is if this was meant to happen wouldnt God have done this by now?

I think the main reason u find this kind of statement coming out of an american ex porn stars mouth rather than say a UK one is that they live in a country where threapy and self help are very accepted. Evereyone has a shrink and rehab is a trend.
Over here we just keep the stiff upper lip and bottle it all up inside. Im not sure if that leaves us with higher rates of depression and suiced than the US or not.

Lets face it, more people leave porn fucked up then enter it. Well i believe so anyway and there for are in need of help upon leaving.

Alot of rehabilitaion and therapy programs are worked around the 12 step plan which is very religiously aimed. Over here we tend to prefer to call it surrendering to a higher power than have anything to do with a god of sorts.

Does that make sence? I dont think ive explained myself particularly well.
Its just an opinion I guess.

Dont forget aswell Terry that alot of people go to great lengths to cover up there real feelings so saying "so and so treated me like dirt and I hate them for it. In fact you are all ass holes and I despise everyone of you." is very hard for some people.
Its easier and actually more healthy for them to say - "ive moved on and Ive found god or a higher power". Its actually a more positive statement rather than staying angry at the business.

The moment you are seen on videos you become typecasted. Its not like you cannot make another choice of career and by denouncing it kind of makes people think, well at what point did you see the light after how many movies?

After one or two movies at best but not when someone has done a plethora of them. That really rattles me.

Then again I shouldnt judge everyone by my own standards as some people have less of a conscience than others it seems.
