Self chooses to perpetuate the view of performers as victims eg supporting a drug habit with their earnings. Whether or not he intends this to be read as a generalisation is neither here nor there because in all probability it will be accepted or endorsed by many of his readers as a truth.

Clearly it's no more the truth than it is to believe in a generalisation based on Will Self that journalists are victims who use their craft to feed their addictions.

Self has fallen in behind the well-trod mantra that all porn vile, disgusting, abusive, blah, blah, blah and all the models are "victims". He's also used that tired old journalistic hyperbole whereby they are unable, or unwilling, to differentiate between the legal adult porn and the illegal child porn. All in all a very poor article from Self.

A very ill-thought out piece, but considering his other half is Deborah Orr, not really that surprising.

I think he didn't really have ANYTHING to write for his column that day so decided to hand this half baked shite in to teacher. I am not sure what he bases his knowledge of porn on - google maybe, or did he do some research??

Who's Deborah Orr? Not heard of her. I'm guessing that she's a really snotty middleclass cow who's OD'd on political correctness and is now convulsing with moral righteousness? If indeed she is, then I say, T? FUCK WIV' HER!
