You will need to visit symantec's website and download a removal program. If you try to do it via add/remove programs it won't uninstall cleanly. i speak from experience! Even then it may leave some folders behind so check your pc afterwards.

I had Norton pre installed on a new laptop with Vista, after it's 60 day trial I just went to the control panel and un-installed it in the usual Add/Remove way.

Then installed AVG.

Not had any problems.

Also read about loads of problems taking off this thing called Vongo =

I removed it the same was as the Norton, again with noproblems.

Think I have been lucky.

Be careful. It wraps itself round your system so bloody tight it can take 45 mins or more to uninstall. On the positive side my PC runs MUCH faster since I dumped Norton, it was just too secure. Def go to Symantec for the right tools, normal Windows uninstall isn't powerful enuff.
