Results-wise he did well with Millwall initially then there was a decline. He took Leeds into the second division and there form has faltered recently, possibly coinciding with Gus Poyet's move to Tottenham. Is Wise really the best they could do for this role ? Director of football is a pretty vague role anyway if that's what Wise is going to do. Having brought back Arthur Cox wouldn't he have been better in the Director of football role ?

People like Dario Gradi were never in it for the fame, but the number of players he developed over the years suggests he knew what he was doing and it seems a shame that he never worked at a higher level whilst unproven people like Wise seem to prosper.

Strange very strange, apparently he will be "assisting" the board

It makes sense only for two different reasons:

1. Wisey will be Assistant Manager, but insisted on the job title on the basis he will have to work with Leeds in some way in the future- and didn't want to fall out with their fans.

2. KK only wants the job for a few years, and Wisey is being groomed to succeed him.

But I would never had put Wisey and KK as mates. I expected Terry Mac as Assistant Manager, and Arthur Cox as some kind of Executive Coaching Consultant.

Looks like they got him in to take over immeadiately when Keegan inevitably walks out. Thinking ahead. Crafty geordies.
We have need of you again, great king.

KK may be walking out sooner rather than later!

He knew nothing of the Wisey appointment- and Wisey will be higher up than him! Wisey will control transfers, scouting and coaching, leaving KK as effectively a first-team coach.

It may even be that KK will have to report to Wisey as well as the Board- or even just Wisey!

The tradgicomedy of Newcastle United continues apace. You couldn't make it up. After all the hype about a KK/Shearer wonderteam, they end up with Dennis "Boss Eyed Cunt" Wise. NUFC are on the verge of taking Man City's role as the comedy crisis club of the Premiership. Shearer obviously has no intention of working with KK, and by the sound of his press conference, KK had no idea that Wise was being brought in to work with him, under him or over him. I really can't see Tiny Tears lasting very long in his latest Messiah role. I hope I'm wrong though, because we all need a laugh in these difficult times.

I was thinking exactly the same as you robches
I thought when Ashley took over that finally Newcastle's fortunes
would turn round. But then came the big sam sacking and Redknapp fiasco

The messiah returns and then it appears he gets an assistant (?) he
knows nothing about. Not sure why any player would want to go there
at the moment - it seems to be a right mess in Geordieland

No wonder Shearer didn't want to get involved

I'm not too unhappy, we hav't really been the same since Gus left and maybe a new man might shake us out of this slump. Don't really want to be risking a playoff game come season end.

Oh and stay away from Beckford Wisey !tut!

we are Leeds.... , and we can still beat the mighty Chester
