Paul Raymond RIP

Post by Mysteryman »

The man who did more to promote access to naked women than any other in the UK has died.

Yes I saw Fiona Richmond in one of his stage shows as a youngster
when I was down in London. One of the first mags I ever had was
men only and I recall his wife getting her kit off in one edition

That's terrible news. What a shame.

I have been writing for Mayfair and MensWorld for the last couple of years.
And what a wonderful organisation to work for.
They are the nicest company to do business with and so friendly.

A true giant of the adult industry will be sorely missed.

Allegedly the inspiration for Nigel Planer's Ralph Filthy in Filthy, Rich And Catflap.

Saw Fiona Richmond in Lets Get Laid with John Inman at the Windmill in December 1974. The performance was a riot as it was the evening of the Oxford-Cambridge annual rugby match and the place was full of students.

The performance took 20 minutes longer than advertised due to the banter between the students, Inman and Richmond.

Saw Marilyn Chambers at the Boulevard Theatre next to the Revuebar in 1981 - a stunning 1 hour solo performance leaving nothing to the imagination.

His 1970s and 1980s Revuebar shows were stunning and very revealing for their time.

His mags were always at the forefront of breaking new ground until Sullivan came along - then he opted for quality.

The only time I've ever felt he ripped people off was with the Pink Pussycat which was a fore-runner od the lap dancing clubs, 15 years too soon and badly thought out.

I once got suspended from school for being in possesion of one of his magazines, which was confiscated by some pervy teacher.

It was well worth it though !grin!
