I read on teletext that Gorbals Mick has had ?700k spent on his flat in parliament since he took office in 2001, the money was spent on updating?, furnishings, air conditioning & art.
The Speakers spokesman said that the work was necessary, I bet it was.

David, David, David, you make it sound as though it isn't a privilege for us to buy furniture for those hardworking public servants who work as MPs. Quite frankly, I'd pawn my grandmother and sell all my possessions to keep Mick, Camo, Gordy, Cleggy and all their chums in the style to which they have become accustomed.
