Tom Hicks interview

Post by Mike_CFC »

I was watching Liverpool's co-owner Tom Hicks being interviewed on Sky Sports News, and i to cringe with laughter.

Sat at home, thousands of miles away from Merseyside watching his 'beloved' Liverpool FC hammering Blackburn,Liverpool mug of coffee in hand.

This is meant to be the owner of a football,or should i say saaaccer club.

Hicks was also bleating on how Liverpool is'nt as big worldwide as the likes of Man U,Real Madrid etc.

I believe a club's owner should take the interests of the 'bread and butter' fan first, before whoring themselves to fans who have never seen the sky over the ground of their supported club, and likely never will.

Afterall,it is the 'bread and butter' fan that makes the club what it is,be it Liverpool or Leyton Orient.

The beautiful game is more and more being taken away from the genuine fan who have stood by their clubs through thick and thin.

Being a 'die hard' Chelsea fan that hates Peter Kenyon,i should know.

Well,at least Abramovich actually attends matches, and has a house in England.I don't know much about the Glazers and their attitude to football.

And there was Liverpool fans laughing at Chelsea on how we're just a toy to Abramovich.

They obviously don't have mirrors back in Liverpool !whistle!

Everybody had a laugh at Utd's expense but aside from what you think about Glazer and the debt etc one and nearly two premiership titles later, and after winning last season you strengthen the squad with Hargreaves, Nani and Anderson, it's the kind of proactivity that is seen to be lacking in Parry. There was no comedy value with the Glazers .. dunno if Malcolm's set foot in Manchester and his sons do their business at arm's length.

You can't say that Gillette and Hicks don't provide comedy value. They just keep digging the hole.

It was just one big PR stunt and such a well choreographed routine that Anton Du Beke would have been proud of it.

Hicks is obviously not a stupid person as he has made his own fortune in life but if he thinks anyone is going to fall for this PR stunt then he must have total contempt for the supporters.
