Paypal

Post by magoo »

I didnt use the o/t prefix as this does relate to buying videos of UK girls. Just thought I better make that clear incase Buttsie starts shouting "delete!" LOL.

I had to open a Paypal a/c to buy from an obscure site. Since then I read a comment on this forum which implied that Paypal might be in some way a bad idea. Are there any bad points about Paypal that I should know about? Such as extra charges or whatever.

Pay Pal is a genius way to send cash. They are now owned by Ebay who purchased them fro $1.5bn so they must do something good. With any credit card payment or cheque written you encur fees.

o/t Re: Paypal

Post by buttsie »

If I post about the Windows Media Player its ontopic because mpegs of British Girls can be played on it-maybe/maybe not.I think a little bit of common sense is occasionaaly required.

Is there a fear by the poster that if they use o/t they will be ignored?

Its all in your perception.
Technically it doesn't relate to the database so is o/t
but as the heading was clear as too the subject it was as good as putting o/t in front of it anyway-in my view.

Erm...Yes Buttsie but I asked about Paypal. And no I dont mean Papal before you go off on a tangent about Catholicism and his Holiness Johnny P. II and his worldwide following again.

So where you trying to prove just how o/t and obscure you can be or am I missing the joke?

Cheers

Bob you ancient comedian who now hosts a daytime quiz show,

Please elaborate on these fees. I am used to using my visa cc for overseas transactions but this paypal malarkey is new to me. And I defy anyone to read all sixty pages of the terms and cons on PPs site.

Thanks

P.S. To the recent poster asking Ted Rogers where Dusty Bin had gone. Dusty got recycled and made into wheel trims for Ford Fiestas due to the introduction of wheelie-bins. RIP all you old fashioned metal dustbins with yer rubber lids etc

3-2-1! What a catchphrase. Bruce Forsyth and Bob Monkhouse are both Jewish and so is Des O`Conner. My very o/t question is - Des O`Conner (adopts an Irish name for showbiz reasons) so whats his real name? Cohen? Goldstein? I know he will still be crap whatever his name is but I`m curious.

I wasn't trying to be funny, just pointing out that how someones
perception of a topic can make it either on/topic or off/topic.

NOT o/t Re: Paypal

Post by magoo »

Yes I know Buttsie but the problem is that when people see a thread with our names on it they assume its going to be a joke thread about jelly or something so they dont even read it. When I ask a simple on-topic question I`d like a genuine answer to only the odd faithfull soul answers.

If I asked a pathetic question about has miss x done h/c I would be flooded with replies (90% of which would be comedy).

If anyone is still listening after the hijack by Roger Irrelevent. Can I just ask is Paypal OK? Bob says yes but mentions charges. Clarification would be appreciated.

As a sensible answer, I point magoo towards the ebay.co.uk site, specifically the forum thereof. You will find a number of threads concerning PayPal. The overall opinion - its good at the moment but Ebay will probably foul it up.

My last CC statement had ?1.29 'membership' fee added to the total amount (almost ?150), so not bad. That's the only 'extra', AFAICT.
