Petrol siphoning! Another epidemic on the rise??

Post by rhino »

I was reading in the newspaper today about a 67 year old woman who died of a heart attack, after a thief tried to steal diesel from a farm in Ireland.
It's so surprisingly why so many stingy muppets out there who now want to steal petrol from other people's cars.

I was on my way to town and I saw 2 police cars outside a house in Bedford. I pulled over to find out what's happened.
It turns out that 2 hoodies tried to steal petrol from a OAP's car.
They broke the cap off, insert the pipe and tried to suck out the petrol so that it can go into a large jeri-can.

The police questioned the 2 and as far as the onlookers stated.. these 2 guys told the police that they had permission to borrow the petrol.
As the OAP couple, they said the 2 guys just broke into their car and started taking petrol out of it.

In the end, the officers put the handcuffs on those hoodies and they were driven off to the police station for further questioning.

As for the petrol that was taken out, some volunteers poured the stuff back in and the car had to be taken to a local garage for repairs.

Since that happened, I'm thinking: First it's the credit cards, now it's the petrol. What sad muppets!

God this sounds like the beginnings of a Mad Max movie. George Miller werent too far off with that post apocalyptic vision was he?

Rob any oap I know and you might find the fuel you stole being the same fuel for your cremation if a matchstick was accidentally struck of course.

I would never dream of doing something so cruel to a thief who would steal from an oap of course.

I'm just saying a match might accidentally get struck is all. You know how flammable petrol is of course.

WHOOOSH!

Expect more of this sort of thing as prices continue to get sillier and sillier.

The first incident was in County Durham, so north-east England rather than Ireland.

Why not? 40,000 litres would sell for ?10-20K, an easy job to steal an unguarded, unprotected lorry. Easier than knocking off a securicor van for the same money.
We have need of you again, great king.

Trouble is, you'd have to have a decent sized Parka to hide a petrol tanker.

It happened in Tony Blair's ex-constituency of Sedgefield

Sedgefield had quite a lot of wealthy inhabitants, mainly in the farming community - but a sizeable population of inbreeds who live on crime and benefits.
