.mov to mpeg files

i need to change some .mov video files which open with quicktime to mpg files so i can open with windows media player instead
any ideas or help please thanks

my dv cam records in ,mov format on sd card,if i take sd card out and put card into usb card reader then i can play from reader using quicktime or windows player because when i got camera i loaded a piece of hd-dv decoder software what came with cam but if you copy or move the files from the sd card to the my videos folder on pc it wont play from the pc hard drive in wma playyer only in quicktime
any ideas or have they got to be converted from quicktime to wma?

win avi 9 or total video converter will do the job.

Either get Quicktime or the K-Lite Codec Pack to view without conversion, and MPEG Streamclip to convert (you may also need the K-Lite Codec).
