hi guys
i'm trying to install a sweex lw053 wireless lan usb 2.0 adapter, but the windows wizard installer just keeps on flashing on and off. also what i think is my hard drive making it's whirring noise.
anyhow, it just won't unstall so i have to click cancel.
i have tried the cd that came with it but to know avail, co's everytime i plug in the usb adapter the wizard does the same thing flashes on and off very quickly.

Make sure you read the instructions fully - because sometimes you need to install the drivers before actually plugging the device in - if you just plug it in first it may just just hang during installation.
If you're doing everything right, try going to their site and d/l the latest drivers, I know the CD that came with a Buffalo USB I purchased did not have Vista drivers on it - and neither did their site at the time (the bastards), so I had to get them from another source.

Jeff, some usb modems require you to plug the modem in first before installing the software, zoom and a few others are like this, check the instructions, I have come accross this before when installing one for my nephew. best to uninstall the whole thing, then plug the usb in let windows discover it and then run the software.

Check the web for newer drivers too - you may find that the ones on the CD are flaky.
Link to the download page:

Make sure you get the drivers for your version of Windows
