The guy who de-shoe'd, and threw them at George Bush's head, was today banged up for a three stretch. Incredible isn't it? Bush, international terrorist and war criminal, nothing happens to him. Some dood removes his Clarke's finest and slings them at Bush, and both missed him by the way, and the man gets three years in the can! What is going on in this world?

one eyed jack. I still think three years in the nick is excessive for chucking your shoes at someone. I'd say the same if his pumps came flying towards my head aswell. We can all think of much worse crimes people have committed which have involved much less of a punishment. And besides, George Dubya is a dick!

Throwing a shoe to those people is a major insult, worse than spitting in someones face is to us, so perhaps the sentence reflects the revulsion they have to that act.
